SB X-Fi doesnt work with openSUSE 11.2 - sound stutters

Dear all,

sorry, if this isn't the proper way to use the mailing list, please
excuse, I didn't join to one before...

My problem is my soundcard - a Creative X-Fi gamer. I spent the whole
weekend to get it work, but the only I figured out is this:
- in KMix it appears as "Creative X-Fi"
- sound is there, but in a very stuttering way. Not for general use.
- kernel module is running ("snd_ctfxi")

My system is:
openSUSE 11.2 running 2.6.31.5-0.1 Kernel (x86_64 default) and KDE 4.3.4
alsa 1.0.22 (compiled by myself with obviously no errors or built in via
YaST as 1.0.22-54.1 - always the same result)
- all running on an AMD Athlon 64 dual core 6000+ with 4GB memory

I don't want even 5.1 or 7.1 surrround, just stereo would be enough for
me. Hopefully there is a way to get this blaster running properly.

Is there anybody out there who could help please?

Best regards,
Eike
