I thought of another test removing and inserting the module and
checking the dmesg output

sudo rmmod snd-hda-intel
[  921.282093] HDA Intel 0000:01:00.1: PCI INT B disabled
[  921.283894] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled

sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel
[  946.793684] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level,
low) -> IRQ 22
[  946.793777] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: irq 36 for MSI/MSI-X
[ 946.793811] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64
[ 946.938355] input: HDA Digital PCBeep as
/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/input/input11
[  946.941169] hda_codec: cannot build controlsfor #0 (error -22)
[  947.002103] HDA Intel 0000:01:00.1: PCI INT B -> GSI 17 (level,
low) -> IRQ 17
[  947.002301] HDA Intel 0000:01:00.1: irq 38 for MSI/MSI-X
[ 947.002403] HDA Intel 0000:01:00.1: setting latency timer to 64

I assume it has something to do with the hda_codec error
