USB Sound Card recommendation

Hi everyone

I need to get a USB sound card for my Ubuntu Studio 64bit laptop and
need some advice please. I will usually be recording 2 live microphones
at a conference, and perhaps occasionally 3 or 4 mics.

Ideally I was thinking if I purchased something that could handle 4 mic
inputs I might get away without hauling a little mixer around although
I'm not sure if any USB sound cards are capable of doing an internal
mix-down to 2 tracks.

The M-Audio Fast Track Ultra USB
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FastTrackUltra.html caught my
eye. But after doing a lot of googling it appears there is little or
perhaps no support in linux for it yet.

Is this the case, and if so what is the next best USB card I can get
that will offer good reliability under linux.

A few features I really want are: Phantom Power, Head Phone Monitoring,
Mono Switch.

Thanks for any assistance people provide.

Cheers
Brendan
