Does lsusb show the Pro as listed amoungst the usb devices? Does the Pro, like
some of MAudio's stuff require firmware to be loaded for the device to run? 
It may be that the Pro violates the USB soundcard guidelines. Linux supports
USB cards that obey the guidelines in general.
The Intel I assume is and internal soundcard on the motherboard.
Your comments are ambiguous. On the one hand they seem to say that the device
is not recognized in any way, while on the otherhand it sounds as if there is
something in Gnome Mixer.
