Hey Laurin, first try to uninstall the alsa source code version. Because most of the time the Debian version will work with your sound card. When grub boots choose the second option (single user) Go to the the directory where you downloaded and compiled the alse source code and type "make uninstall" and "make clean" next step install the Debian alsa version. apt-get -f update apt-get reinstall alsa-base If your still have problems to boot in GDM let me know. good luck, Floris Laurin d'Volts schreef: > I recently installed the alsa source code into my lenny desktop.
