Hi!
As this is my first post to this list, would like to say hello to everybody here. So... Hello everybody here! :-)
Also, as I have audio problems which I don't know how to resolve, I decided to ask here for some help and
would be very grateful for any suggestion. Problem is, I have 2 processes which have to capture audio from
1 soundard mic input. Ok, after trying every asound.conf file I've found here and there, I realized dsnoop is
enabled by default, and really two instances of arecord or rec (from sox) work without asound.conf file. The
moment where things go bad is when I run sphinx2 voice recognition software (http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/).
compiled to use alsa api (./configure --with-alsa). After running sphinx2, arecord fails and opposite. So I wanted
to know if there is any alsa function or way of programming alsa which confuses dsnoop as this is last from my
ideas why it does not work. After trying some workarounds with pulseaudio and named pipes which have some
limitations I can't afford, I've returned to thinking it just should work with alsa. If anyone with some alsa experiece
would have some will and time to check out
https://cmusphinx.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/cmusphinx/trunk/sphinx2/src/libsphinx2ad/ad_alsa.c
and see if there is something suspicious which would make dsnoop not work I would be so grateful!
Some structs are defined in https://cmusphinx.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/cmusphinx/trunk/sphinx2/include/ad.h,
but nothing to bother about I suppose.
So, thank you in advance for any help!
Greets,
Marin.
