I have recently set up a computer for my daughter from old parts. It uses the VIA 8237 chip. I can get no sound from speakers. I have checked the bios and it is enables. I checked the mute in system settings and it is not muted. I tried a bunch of thinks from cli with the help of someone from #alsa to no avail.
