Could you try again to download and run: http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh If you are using a web-browser like firefox, you can click on the link http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh then after the page loads, select file, save-as and save the file as alsa-info.sh in your home directory, then at a terminal type: sh alsa-info.sh say yes to upload the file and post the URL it gives back in a reply to this message. You could also help us by letting us know what Linux distribution you are running (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, Mandriva...) and whether you installed GNU/Linux yourself or someone else did it for you.
