Hi, you haven't told us what the output of the command:

cat /proc/asound/modules

is on your computer. Can you run the above command and copy its output
to a reply to this message?

Could you try again to download and run:

http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh

If you are using a web-browser like firefox, you can click on the link
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh then after the page loads,
select file, save-as and save the file as alsa-info.sh in your home
directory, then at a terminal type:

sh alsa-info.sh

say yes to upload the file and post the URL it gives back in a reply to
this message.

You could also help us by letting us know what Linux distribution you
are running (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, Mandriva...) and whether you
installed GNU/Linux yourself or someone else did it for you.

Regards,

Arthur.
