Problems with ALC650

I've been struggling as of lately to get ANY sound through the lime
green output on the back of my motherboard. The motherboard is an Asus
a7v8x. This board has the realtek ALC650 on it. I'm running Debian 5.0
(Installed about a week ago). I've run alsaconf and configured it to
work with the via82xx alsa driver. I got frustrated and went and
downloaded the latest version of alsa from the website (Version 1.0.19)
and installed it and I've not had any luck getting it to work either.
I've played with alsamixer, muting and unmuting devices to confirm where
the issue lies and still haven't been able to get it to work properly.
--- I have verified the speakers I am plugged into work.

Anyway, any suggestions would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks.
