I've tried getting the front mic to work on dell inspirion 1525 The person who bought these told me they were sold with ubuntu on them, so I would have thought they'd be compatible. Anyway, I can't get both the front mic jack to work at the same time as the sound. When I load the driver with model=dell-bios, the mic will work, but there is no sound. If I load it with any other model, the sound works, but the front mic does not. I can turn up the mic when it is working, and it will continue to work (at least as I can hear through loopback) as I unload the drivers. As soon as I load snd_hda_intel with a different model, the mic is muted, and the sound comes back. Has anyone else come across a situation like this? It seems like it might be that the mixers that are needed aren't available all at the same time, but that is a guess. I'll attach the output of the alsa debug script.
