output sound through both devices

I am on Arch Linux.  Up to about a week ago sound was always played through both the analog and digital devices.

I have an A/V receiver connected to the digital output.  When I played Amarok I heard sound through both the speakers connected to the analog output and home theater speakers as well.  Same as for the KDE startup sound for instance.

Can anyone help?
