Hi,

I still have some issues with my Native Instrument Audio Kontrol 1 sound card.
I tried many things to make it works perfectly, but now I am a lost.

This sound card work well if I just listen music or watch some videos. I got no problem with it. But when I want to use it with Jack or just alsa to make some music, I got some problems.

My problem can be reproduced most of the time on my laptop :

Run jackd and qjackctl :

- jackd -R -P70 -p128 -t4900 -dalsa -dhw:1 -r48000 -p256 -n3 -S

- Run rosegarden : open 2 or 3 plugins, make some sequences.
- Just qui rosegarden
- Jack begins to make tons of : delay of 5665.000 usecs exceeds estimated spare time of 5205.000; restart ...

Now I just have to stop jack to these tons of messages. and restart it. But some times, jack can not restart. I have to reboot my system....

I don't really know what's happening with my system. I tried many many different configuration : Real Time kernel with rtirq script, setpci, .... Normal kernel ... I even try some setting for jack like playback only : /usr/bin/jackd -R -P70 -p128 -t4900 -dalsa -dhw:1 -r44100 -p1024 -n3 -P -S

And Always I got these tons of exceeds estmated spare time.

For informations :

I tried with severals kernel :
- 2.6.26.8-rt15
- 2.6.26.8-rt12
- 2.6.27-gentoo-r8

I am using the last version of alsa 1.0.19  (driver, lib, utils, ...)

I run gentoo 64bits.

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 9400 - 2Go RAM - Core 2 Duo P4
Graphic card : Nvidia Geforce GO 7900 GS

So what Can I do now ?

I don't see things really interesting in dmesg, except, this afternoon, I was using LMMS, just through Alsa (not jack), and I had a freeze. Not the entire system, but just lmms. After that, I could not kill lmms even with killall -9 lmms command.
And dmesg give me this output (perhaps something usefull) :

[16915.995106] ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: devpath 2 ep1in 3strikes
[16915.995113] ALSA /home/mysthr2/logiciels/musique/alsa-driver-1.0.19/usb/caiaq/caiaq-device.c:147: snd-usb-caiaq log: received EP1 urb->status = -71
[17131.546302] ALSA /home/mysthr2/logiciels/musique/alsa-driver-1.0.19/acore/rawmidi.c:200: rawmidi drain error (avail = 3941, buffer_size = 4096)
[17141.597280] ALSA /home/mysthr2/logiciels/musique/alsa-driver-1.0.19/acore/rawmidi.c:200: rawmidi drain error (avail = 4095, buffer_size = 4096)

After that I had to reboot my system because jack too did not want to start.

Please help me making my system works properly. I can give you any informations you need.

Thank you, cheers,

Mysth-R
