Thanks Mark, I saw where you replied to the cries of another lost soul with a similar script and I didn't have much luck getting it to work. This one did something... though during the make process I got several warnings about deprecated files and 'comparison of distinct pointer types lacks a cast'. Eventually it created an object code file in the ssound directory for the kernel. So... now what? I rebooted and ran alsamixer but got 'No mixer elems found'. Am I getting ahead of myself here?
