Edirol UA-1EX help needed

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

All,

Bought this device, due to the recommendation that it was complete supported.  I plugged it and it worked.  That’s great.  However, I want to use the spdif output.   I am either at a configuration issue or lack of understanding.

This works and comes out the analog RCA:

aplay –D default sound.wav

aplay –L shows me this:

default:CARD=UA1EX

    UA-1EX, USB Audio

    Default Audio Device

front:CARD=UA1EX,DEV=0

    UA-1EX, USB Audio

    Front speakers

surround40:CARD=UA1EX,DEV=0

    UA-1EX, USB Audio

4.0 Surround output to Front and Rear speakers

surround41:CARD=UA1EX,DEV=0

    UA-1EX, USB Audio

4.1 Surround output to Front, Rear and Subwoofer speakers

surround50:CARD=UA1EX,DEV=0

    UA-1EX, USB Audio

5.0 Surround output to Front, Center and Rear speakers

surround51:CARD=UA1EX,DEV=0

    UA-1EX, USB Audio

5.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Rear and Subwoofer speakers

surround71:CARD=UA1EX,DEV=0

    UA-1EX, USB Audio

7.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Side, Rear and Woofer speakers

iec958:CARD=UA1EX,DEV=0

    UA-1EX, USB Audio

    IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output

null

Discard all samples (playback) or generate zero samples (capture)

If I try to put anything out iec958 (aplay –D iec958) I receive this error:

aplay: set_params:954: Sample format non available

I really do not have an asound.conf or .asoundrc.

I’ve messed with a few for awhile, but I don’t seem to be able to do anything with them.

Looking for some advice.  I’m ultimately trying to accomplish ALL sounds to go out the spdif, and reading a Myth wiki on this.

However, I can’t even get to the point I can verify spdif.

Thanks
