I have hardly heard anything good about Kubuntu, even though I am KDE guy.

I nowadays am using SUSE 10.3, SUSE 11.0 with KDE 3.5.9 should be even better.

I also like a lot Sabayon as Live DVD, they have KDE and excellent HW detection, as a recent
review pointed out, probably better, than Ubuntu, so I suggest to quickly try Sabayon.
