Dear Rene,

Following another post at alsa-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, I added "alias snd-card-0" and "snd-ens1371" to /etc/modprobe.conf.

Also, I thought you would like to know that sound *input* does work under alsa--  I tested my mic with audacity and you could see the graphic lines there as I spoke.  You could also see the lines during playback, but with silence.  There are four different alsa playback options in audacity and I tried each one with silence.

Perhaps this will help shed light on the issue.
