I have an HDA intel soundcard and I have two capture devices and two Mux devices, no Mix devices. In my opinion, each soundcard has different devices names. Just try to see what device does what. You can for example play with audacity to get some visual feedback. I was going to give you a more detailed answer but it seems I can't record the music I play. So it seems I have the same problem. Another problem that may be related, I can't hear what I record. For example If i want to record some sound from line-in, I can't hear it at the same time.
