I don't understand why that should work. I don't think I can force my receiver to use a specific rate. But I'll give it a go. There is the possibility that Alsa is reporting the wrong speed here... That seems to be the case. It's still running at 48kHz. I was experimenting with the following setting: "options snd-intel-8x0 ac97_clock=41194" (without success). That was before I found out I'm actually using the via82xx driver and not the intel8x0 driver.
