I have that on one of my machines.  It should use the snd-hda-intel module(s).  And you should run at least alsa version 1.0.14.  There were some mixer additions in 1.0.15 iirc.  Although I think knoppix used 1.0.13 and worked for that card as well.  At the time I set it up, I was on 1.0.14 and had issues (mainly with recording).  Some of which got better with 1.0.15.

Also, if you have multiple soundcards, you might need to modify the bios to enable, instead of detect/auto.  As detect will disable the card if it sees some other card.
