I'm pretty new to Linux and I'm trying to configure a dual boot system. I've been assigned a HP Compaq dx2250 (Specs: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06a/12454-12454-64287-321860-3328893-3310266.html).
I've already installed WinXP and its drivers. I'm now trying to configure JAD 1.0 (OpenSUSE 10.2) but I'm unable to configure ALSA and JACK.
The Sound is OnBoard: Realtek ALC862 @ ATI SB600.
I've found these two drivers (Realtek High Definition Audio Driver) at realtek.com:
ftp://202.65.194.211/pc/audio/realtek-linux-audiopack-5.01.tar.bz2 and
ftp://66.104.77.130/pc/audio/realtek-linux-audiopack-RHEL4U4-4.05f.tar.bz2
I tried installing the 5.01 package but it doesn't seem to work. I haven't tried the other one though.
Is there a way to make things work?
Thank you,
Ignacio
