Crosstalk on ALC889A with alsa, not with Windows

Hi,

I've got a Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H motherboard, which uses an nvidia chipset and a realtek ALC889A codec. In linux whenever I output anything to the front left channel I get a nasty crackly copy on the centre output. I initially thought this was dodgy motherboard design, but I don't get the problem in windows. I've tried both the driver in the gentoo 2.6.23 kernel, and also the alsa-driver 1.0.16rc2 release, and have tried poking around with various parameters within the driver module to no avail. I've run alsa-info.sh - the output is at http://pastebin.ca/886032. Does anyone know of a windows utility which could dump the codec settings so I can compare?

Ian
