support for Intel ICH8, headphones

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello.

I own a Fujitsu-Siemens Pi-2515 laptop which has the Intel HDA sound
chip (ICH8). I have Ubuntu 8.04 alpha installed so I have the latest
stable alsa drivers and the sound works.

The problem is if I to listen with my headphones plugged in, the front
laptop speakers won't mute. There's a Headphones scroll in the Volume
Control but changing the volume has no effect at all. If I mute "Front"
or "PCM" the sound on headphones mutes as well.

Is there a hack or a patch to get the headphones to work properly?

Greets,
Luka
