I had the same issue and solved it removing the package
alsa-plugins-pulseaudio

yum remove alsa-plugins-pulseaudio

My card is detected as:
[root@tekkaman ~]# cat /proc/asound/cards
 0 [Intel          ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
                      HDA Intel at 0x90320000 irq 23
and from lspci is:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)
