I think plughw is built in.
But you can determine where it is look for the plugins by running e.g.
aplay with "strace" and find out if the plugins are where they are
supposed to be.
Also that .asoundrc doesn't work for me - I had to remove the "slave
{ card 1 }" part and it worked fine.
