Hi All, Bit of an odd one, so please bear with me here! What I'm trying to do is write a bash script that can read the current volume level coming from the microphone and then deal with certain values (silence or noise detection). Does anyone know of a way of 'grabbing' the current microphone level via the shell? I'm playing around with ecasignalview as that samples my alsa sound device and siaplys a peak/average peak, however this is a user-interactive program, can anyone suggest how I can query something similar? Thanks in advance, and apologies if this is not quite the right place to post this query! -- Andy e: andy @ thebmwz3.co.uk e: andy @ broadcast-tech.co.uk ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
