I am running etch on a laptop with an intel 945gm chipset.
It was working fine before I restored my home directory from a previous installation (on the same machine). But even when I make a new user account it still doesn't work.

I have tried alsa-conf & 'dpkg-reconfigure -plow alsa-conf' but they didn't help
I have also tried restoring the .gnome configuration files.

I think maybe I have to reinstall the drivers?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
