emu 0404 USB support

Hi,

I noticed that in v1.0.15rc1 0404 PCI support was introduced.

And I've seen this message from James Courtier-Dutton dated 2007-04-16:

"Neither the E-MU 0404 or 0202 USB sound cards are supported in Linux.
I have samples, but work on a driver has not yet started.
They are not usb-audio standards compliant, so a new driver will have to
be written for them."

Any chance work on this driver been done? Also, by a new driver James
means a separate module next to snd-emu10k1 will have to be created just
  for EMU USB soundcards?

Btw, there's a lot of demand for the 0404 USB driver [1] [2], me
including. I'd be glad to test it. No C coding skill or driver
development experience though.

Could somebody also update the wiki page, it's latest update is almost a
year away.
