Only the name determines whether the control is for playback or capture.
Some controls have an ambiguous functions, and some drivers give their
controls ambiguous names.

r        readable
 w       writable
  i      inactive
   v     volatile
    l    locked
     R   tlv-readable
      W  tlv-writable
       C tlv-commandable

"TLV" is additional data about the control, like dB scale information.
