Hello. I have a TV tuner card in my system that is based a Philips saa7134 chip. To use it, I have to do modprobe saa7134 alsa=1 to enable alsa sound. However, when I do that, I get in dmesg saa7134 ALSA driver for DMA sound loaded saa7133[0]/alsa: saa7133[0] at 0xdfffd800 irq 17 registered as card -1 Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000001 RIP: [<ffffffff88021c98>] :snd_pcm:snd_pcm_timer_init+0x30/0x100 PGD 46323067 PUD 586b8067 PMD 0 Oops: 0000 [1] SMP CPU 1 Modules linked in: saa7134_alsa xc3028_tuner tuner saa7134 video_buf compat_ioctl32 ir_kbd_i2c ir_common videodev v4l2_common v4l1_compat nvidia(P) it87 hwmon_vid i2c_isa i2c_core k8temp hwmon snd_pcm_oss snd_mixer_oss snd_h da_intel snd_pcm snd_timer snd snd_page_alloc Pid: 32147, comm: modprobe Tainted: P 2.6.21.5 #26 RIP: 0010:[<ffffffff88021c98>] [<ffffffff88021c98>] :snd_pcm:snd_pcm_timer_init+0x30/0x100 RSP: 0018:ffff8100585f9e08 EFLAGS: 00010246 RAX: 0000000000000001 RBX: ffff81005138e650 RCX: ffff8100585f9e10 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: ffffffff88023b0d RDI: ffff81005138e400 RBP: ffff8100745c7200 R08: 0000000000000004 R09: 0000000000000266 R10: 0000000000000266 R11: ffffffff80384b2f R12: ffff8100745c7328 R13: 0000000000000018 R14: 0000000000000001 R15: ffffffff88022738 FS: 00002b8a077e3b00(0000) GS:ffff81007e33edc0(0000) knlGS:00000000f6a74bb0 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 000000008005003b CR2: 0000000000000001 CR3: 00000000646be000 CR4: 00000000000006e0 Process modprobe (pid: 32147, threadinfo ffff8100585f8000, task ffff81005285f4b0) Stack: ffff81005138e400 ffffffff8800439c 0000000000000003 ffff8100745c7200 ffff8100745c7328 0000000000000018 ffff81005138e650 ffffffff8801941d ffff81007d95a870 ffff8100468e4178 63304431436d6370 00000000ffffff00 Call Trace: [<ffffffff8800439c>] :snd:snd_add_device_sysfs_file+0x60/0x6c [<ffffffff8801941d>] :snd_pcm:snd_pcm_dev_register+0x17f/0x1ea [<ffffffff88008c04>] :snd:snd_device_register_all+0x38/0x4f [<ffffffff88004bc9>] :snd:snd_card_register+0x14/0x2b5 [<ffffffff888c0050>] :saa7134_alsa:alsa_device_init+0x276/0x2a5 [<ffffffff888c013d>] :saa7134_alsa:saa7134_alsa_init+0x85/0xae [<ffffffff802454b9>] sys_init_module+0xad/0x168 [<ffffffff8020956e>] system_call+0x7e/0x83 Code: 8b 00 89 44 24 18 8b 47 18 89 44 24 1c 8b 43 18 01 c0 09 d0 RIP [<ffffffff88021c98>] :snd_pcm:snd_pcm_timer_init+0x30/0x100 RSP <ffff8100585f9e08> CR2: 0000000000000001 After that, the saa7134-alsa module is locked and cannot be removed (rmmod doesn't work), and audio doesn't work with the TV card. Any hint appreciated. _________________________________________________________________ Gagnez des pc Windows Vista avec Live.com http://www.image-addict.fr/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
