Can anybody suggest what I can try next? I've built a snd_cs5530 module for an embedded system running a minimal 2.6.21.5 linux kernel. I've run snddevices to create a /dev/snd subdirectory. When I run aplay -l before loading the module I get 'no soundcard found' which is obviously correct. However, after doing modprobe (which gives encouraging noises about finding my sound chip), aplay -l says 'Invalid CTL hw:0' and xmixer also talks about an Invalid CTL. I've also tried to OSS emulation layer, sending stuff to /dev/dsp, but this just disappears silently. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
