On my A8N-VM then it's working with *init_verbs* commented, max_channels 
set to 6 and num_dacs set to 3.
I haven't tried it, but if you're changing num_init_verbs to 1 then it 
looks like spec->init_verbs[2] = ad1986a_ch2_init; should have 
spec->init_verbs[1] instead?
