I have an Maudio Transit USB card. While not perfect it actually works well
with Linux, and is high quality ( low distorition). It cost about $100 Cdn
5 years ago. It has only a very simple single stereo input and output. It
is supposed to support digital in/out, but I have never used that.

Maudio has a problem in that they are highly non-supportive of Linux and
seem to feel that if anyone in the world realises that the people in the
organisation have two legs, their business will come to an end. (Ie, they
regard everything even the most trivial as secret information which they
refuse to divulge to anyone). As such you may feel that it is not a good
idea to support them.
