tried arecord from a terminal and got nothing but a bunch of ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| all over the screen. should i be able to see it where i select my sound devices? in ubuntu it's system/preferences/sound. i don't see it. whats another app i can try to select it from?
