Hm, do you mean, this card needs a separate firmware file that the ALSA module will load, and this firmware is not part of ALSA? Maybe it is not free enough to distribute? The driver for my Intel Wireless 2915abg is part of the kernel, but I have to download the firmware file myself from the Intel website.
