Hi Chaps, Thanks to some great input from Karsten and Rui I now have an apparently fully working US-428 on my desk. This is currently using a gentoo 2.6.20 kernel on AMD64. The problems: (a) If you let udev load your snd-usb-usx2y module it ignores the settings in /etc/modules.d/alsa, particularly the important nrpacks parameter. Use /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel2.6 instead. (b) The impending usx2y jack driver patch (which will apparently be in 0.103) fixes my segfault problem when using the hw:1,2 device. You can patch 0.102.20 to this level using the patch recently posted to the jackit-devel list by Karsten. Everything seems to work now: I have just successfully run a test of simultaneous 24-bit recording on all four tracks at 44.1KHz. As a final test, I'm going to try the same configuration on my P4 to confirm. Many, many thanks to Karsten and Rui! -- Cheers, Matt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
