Hello. I have the same problem with alsa 1.0.13 and VT8237A - it works, but with high-pitched beeping, and the sound disappears after changing any mixer setting, returning only after reloading the module. The only error(?) seems to be "hda-intel: Invalid position buffer, using LPIB read method instead.", with all debuging information enabled. I tried disabling msi, and passing a model parameter, it didn't make any difference, though. I was thinking that maybe the card is broken, but it does work in windows.
