I
deactivated KDE sound daemon artsd and the things
have changed:
-xine doesn't failed right now. However sound on SPDIF
is really broken. It is more noise than sound. Also my AV receiver is not able
to recognise this stream.
-side question is why artsd was using spdif? I suppose
it should use default which is analog out ( I am not using custom settings or
routing ). It also means there is no system sounds/notifications.

Another process like ESD or artsd or a web browser must be blocking the
sound card. Your device must not support multiple access.
