well; i was not clear enough: i apologize.....  in your place i should 
put something like < options snd-hda-intel index=0 disable_msi=1  > in a 
textfile. under debian i used kwrite for that, but any editor will do, i 
think.

after that i should put this text*file* (again under debian_etch as 
distro) in the 'split'file  /etc/modprobe.d, the file in which [under 
debian]  you can modify modules to load in the kernel at boot.
so - explicitly - i should in casu *not* give the modprobe-command.

hope this helps a bit, allthough i do not know which distro you are using.
