I've recently purchased a new system with an Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard.
I'm trying to get the on-board microphone working on the sound card. I
have no problem hearing sound but using the Sound Recorder in Gnome and
my microphone I'm unable to hear what I speak into the microphone.
According to /proc/asound/version I'm running Alsa 1.0.12rc1 on
2.6.17-10-generic x86_64. I'm running Ubuntu 6.10.
I've searched the internet for some help but haven't heard anything
about this motherboard not working with audio capture. In aumix IGain is
set to 100, Mic is 100, Line is red. In Alsa mixer Capture is turned up
all the way. Under switches line-in capture, Microphone capture and
phone are all checked.
I did load W2k just to make sure that I didn't have a hardware issue and
the microphone worked fine. I must admit that I not much of an
audiophile so I don't know for sure if all the settings are correct.
