There's the problem - it says "snd-snd-usb-audio" instead of "snd-usb-audio". 
But you can't just edit /etc/modprobe.conf because it's autogenerated on your 
distro.

So, run 'grep snd-snd-usb-audio /etc/modprobe.d/*' to find which file contains 
the typo, then edit it (or, if you're feeling daring, you could use sed to 
find and correct the typo automatically) and re-run modules-update (see its 
manpage). 

FYI, I use the index=x notation in my modprobe.conf with udev loading modules 
for onboard and offboard sound and it works fine - the Audigy is always card 
0 and the VIA8237 is always card 1.
