Command I am using (in my run.sh) is:
/usr/libexec/dirsrv/dscontainer -r
And the volume is just a mounted directory at this point. This is my docker-compose.yml:

services:
d389:
build:
dockerfile: Dockerfile
context: .
args:
os_version: 8
version: 1
ports:
- "3389"
- "3636"
privileged: true
volumes:
- type: bind
source: ./bind/data
