I'm having issues with this as well, but I'm trying to do a clean install, not an upgrade. I pulled down 389-dsgw-1.1.7-2.el5.x86_64.rpm as suggested, but it's failing to install with dependency errors as well:
# yum localinstall 389-dsgw-1.1.7-2.el5.x86_64.rpm

Not sure where to go from here.
I had to first
yum clean all
[root@dsa ~]# yum clean all
Loaded plugins: kernel-module
Cleaning up Everything
then
yum install 389-adminutil # this should install 1.1.14 which provides
libadminutil.so.0 and libadmsslutil.so.0
No. The error is:
[root@dsa ~]# yum install 389-adminutil

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
package-cleanup --dupes
rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
Any hint?
yum install mozldap
Ciao,
Enrico
then
yum install 389-admin # to install the dependencies for 389-dsgw
then
rpm -i 389-dsgw-1.1.7-2.el5.x86_64.rpm
