Anyway, since you're talking about openjdk, I just noticed that it wasn't coming from Sun. So, I downloaded the latest java version from Sun (jdk-6u18-linux-i586-rpm.bin) , updated the alternatives and fonts are normal now. 8.0, I was using Java 1.5 from IBM but it doesn't work with 8.1 so I took the latest version from the repository, which is openjdk 1.6.
